Cultural Infrastructure and Civic Resilience

1 min read

POETIC is proud to moderate the panel discussion Safeguarding the Public Realm – Our Shared Responsibility, presented as part of the IN2IT Festival.

This conversation shifts attention away from individual events and institutions towards cultural infrastructure: the long-term structures that enable a society to function, even under pressure.

The Opera in Kristiansund, Kristiansund Kunsthall, Nordmørsmusea, and Nordic Light will come together to discuss the responsibility cultural actors hold as stewards of this infrastructure.

Culture constitutes preparedness: trust, social cohesion, and the capacity to manage disagreement without society fragmenting. It provides shared language and reference points, and creates space for care and mutual responsibility over time.

The discussion invites collective reflection on how cultural infrastructure can be developed to strengthen a society’s civic resilience, and to foster the confidence required to pursue shared ambitions.
